Moko Utakata (うたかた
She's the author and illustrator of the popular manga, Uron Mirage.
Etymology[]
- The name Moko means "imitation/copy" (模) (mo) and "paste/glue" (糊) (ko).
Appearance[]
Moko usually wears a lion mask so that her true face is not known. In her free time or when doing research for her manga, she usually does it without wearing the mask. She has short hair and wears glasses. She is short.
Personality[]
She's usually cautious when she goes out, since she prefers not to attract the attention of any fan. Moko is kind to others. She shows a creative and imaginative attitude so she never stops creating new characters and plots in her mind.[1]
History[]
At college, during a party, Moko used to talk to a friend of hers called Kuon Shiranui who used to tell her stories about his past (according to Moko, they were stories he used to make up when he was drunk), which she wrote down and was inspired to form a story that would later be known as "Uron Mirage".[2]
Time later, she began working as a mangaka at Weekly Shonen Jaguar, publishing her work "Uron Mirage".
Relationships[]
Kuon Shiranui[]
They both attended the same college and used to go out drinking together. During one of their outings, a drunken Kuon would start telling Moko his anecdotes, from which she would take inspiration to create her future manga. Currently, although they have not seen each other since college, they remain good friends.
Trivia[]
- It's likely that the lion mask that she usually uses is inspired by the Uron Mirage's character; Zack Balan.
- Her true appearance was shown in Chapter 121, during The Day of the Disaster Arc.
