Rinka Suzaki (洌 (す) 崎 (ざき) 燐 (りん) 花 (か) , Suzaki Rinka^?) is a supporting character in Witch Watch series.

She was a witch known as the Demolition Witch (爆 (ばく) 破 (は) の魔 (ま) 女 (じょ) , Bakuha no Majo^?) and Hibana's mother.

Etymology

• The name Rinka means "phosphorus" (燐) (rin) and "flower" (花) (ka).
• Rinka's surname Suzaki means "pure" (洌) (su) and "promontory/cape/spit" (崎) (zaki).

Appearance

Rinka was a woman of average height. She had short hair reaching to her shoulders.

Personality

Rinka was a kind-hearted person who was afraid of others finding out she was a witch so she hid her powers. Rinka was someone who loved her daughter and had a good friendship with Soji. Rinka would do anything to protect her daughter.

History

When she was in college, her magic awakened, so she decided to keep her powers a secret with her boyfriend being the only one who knew about them, however after Rinka became pregnant he ran away. Rinka would raise her daughter alone and since she had inherited her powers she decided to keep her away from the rest of society.

One day, she would discover a book on magic which would captivate her so much that she would want to meet the author, some time later she would meet the author of the book Soji Kokuryo to whom she would tell about her powers since he was also a witch and he believed every word. Since then both had a great friendship with Soji helping Rinka and Hibana with anything they needed.

One day, due to her job, Rinka decides to hire a nanny to take care of Hibana resulting in the nanny used to physically abuse Hibana, when Rinka finds out she confronts her however the nanny tells her that she has no proof and that she can accuse her of Rinka being the one who beat Hibana, angry, Rinka unconsciously uses her powers making her explode and kill her, this would cause Rinka to be placed on the most wanted list as a potential terrorist, scared of what they could do if they found out that she or Hibana had powers she decides to write two letters, the first was confessing to the murder and saying that she used a bomb and the second was addressed to Soji who she would ask to take care of Hibana, after that Rinka would use her powers on herself.

Rinka and Soji had in common the fact that they were wizards making them understand each other, due to their friendship Soji used to help Rinka and Hibana often even with things not related to magic. Rinka would leave him in charge of taking care of her daughter showing how much she trusted him.
