Soji Kokuryo (国 (こく) 領 (りょう) 創 (そう) 路 (じ) , Kokuryō Sōji^?) is a supporting character in Witch Watch series.

He's a warlock known as the Spaceshafter Witch (空 (くう) 間 (かん) の魔 (ま) 女 (じょ) , Bakuha no Majo^?). He and Hibana are the main antagonists of Phantom Blaze Arc as they try to revive Jura.

Currently, he's one of the main antagonists of the series by collaborating with Shikimi.

Etymology

• The name Soji means "genesis/wound/injury/start" (創) (sou) and "path/road/distance" (路) (ji).
• Soji's surname Kokuryo means "country" (国) (koku) and "jurisdiction/dominion/territory" (領) (ryou).

Appearance

Soji is a tall person. During his time as a professor, he used to wear a lab coat, a dark shirt, and pants with a horizontal stripe pattern. He is currently wearing a robe with a diamond pattern, a dark shirt, and dark pants.

He has long hair that is combed back, but now he has let it grow longer than before. He used to shave it before, but now he has some hair on his chin.

During the Migirijima mission, Soji would lose his arm due to an attack from Jeanne, so after that he would use a prosthetic arm.

In the present time, Soji is an older person, having long, slicked-back hair, its predominant color being white, although he has black streaks.

Personality

Soji used to be a kind person who used to help those who had magic like him, feeling a great connection with Rinka and her daughter since they were both witches, so he used to help them with anything they needed. After Rinka's death, Soji would be devastated by what since then he would dedicate himself to studying magic and seeing that they were talented, he began to think that they should not hide but rather excel by becoming a warlock.

History

Soji used to be a geologist and a university professor, however, being a witch, she began to become interested in magic, writing several books about it. One day she would meet another witch named Rinka who became interested in one of Soji's books and told her about her powers, Soji would feel identified and would reveal to her that he is also a witch, becoming close friends since Soji used to go to her house to help her with whatever she needed. One day, Soji would receive a letter from Rinka explaining the situation she was in and that she should take care of Hibana, Soji would be devastated, proposing to study magic to find a way in which they could live in peace, discovering Jura so she would propose to resurrect her.

Rinka and Soji had in common the fact that they were wizards making them understand each other, due to their friendship Soji used to help Rinka and Hibana often even with things not related to magic. Soji would be destroyed by Rinka's death.

Abilities

• Spaceshape Magic: Soji has the ability to control space so he can create holes wherever he wants and control their diameter. Soji is also able to control space itself, so he can create protective layers to simulate a space and hide things without being detected.
