Uron Mirage (うろんミラージュ Uron Mirāju?) or shorted as Uro-Mira (うろミラ Uromira?) is a fictional series in Witch Watch series. It's a very popular school battle fantasy manga written and illustrated by Moko Utakata.

Uron Mirage is a very popular series known for its vague world-building, mystery-laden dialogue and obscure plot.[2][3]

Name[]

The name of the series comes from the sword Uron Mirage, which is prophesied to give its bearer a great power.[4]

Although at first many people dropped the manga due to unclear events and its multiple scenes that can be interpreted any number of ways but at the same time this was attractive to a small group that would later become a passionate fan base dedicated to analyzing every detail of the story.[3]

Another event that increased its popularity was when the mangaka Moko Utakata announced that he was allowing fan derivative works to be made, which caught the attention of the community.[3]

The popularity of the manga is also due to the anime adaptation announcement.[3]

Promotional Video[]

As a promotion for Volume 6 for Witch Watch, an anime for Uron Mirage was announced along with an update of circulating copies of the series. A promotional video was released where several seiyuus were hired to voice the characters, these were:

A website for the promotion of the anime was also released. Contains comments from some seiyuus about their thoughts on the series (These announcements were part of a joke to promote the aforementioned volume).

Trivia[]

  • As a promotion for Volume 6, it was announced that Uron Mirage has 45,000,000 copies in circulation.[5]
  • Although most of the characters in Witch Watch have proven to be fans of the manga, Yuri and Kuku are the biggest fans of this, Kuku being the one who makes the most fanarts of this series and Yuri who has read all the chapters.
  • According to Moko Utakata, the series was created based on stories told to her by her college friend Kuon Shiranui.[6]
  • In the anime adaptation of Witch Watch, two special songs were created based on Uron Mirage.
