Uzu (雲 (う) 珠 (ず) , Uzu^?) is a supporting character in Witch Watch series.

She was a warlock known as the Undying Witch (不 (ふ) 死 (し) の魔 (ま) 女 (じょ) , Fushi no Majo^?) and Ran's mother to whom she would inherit her powers and title.

She was one of the warlocks to participate in the great mage war and the only survivor.

Etymology

• The name Uzu means "cloud" (雲) (u) and "pearl/gem/jewel" (子) (zu).

Appearance

Uzu wears a white burial outfit. Her hair was white and long. Despite having the appearance of someone in her 20s, Uzu is actually twice that age.

She was considered a beautiful witch with heavenly beauty.

Personality

Uzu used to be an apathetic person, showing the wish to die that her magic denied her. Despite her apathetic attitude, she used to be kind to the people she loved, this personality was only shown to Mogari.

History

Uzu would participate in the great mage war along with the other warlocks.

After the witches won the war, they would eliminate all the warlocks except Uzu who, due to her immortality magic, could not be killed, so it was decided to imprison her.

She would designate Mogari as her guardian to watch over her, because of this they both met and forged a bond.

Years later, Uzu would ask Mogari to kill her, but since she was immortal, there was only one way to do it and that was by having a child. Uzu will flee with Mogari to a secret place where Ran would be born, due to the birth of her son, Uzu would die in peace.

Mogari Otake

Uzu initially displayed a defiant attitude towards Mogari due to being one of the ogres who would help win the war against the warlocks. However, over time and without any other company, she and Mogari became friends. Spending time together, this would make Uzu develop trust towards him, revealing that her wish was to die and revealing the way to do it. When Uzu gave birth to Ran, Uzu would thank Mogari for granting her wish.

Abilities

• Inmortality Magic: Uzu would be born with immortality magic, despite not being truly immortal she can heal from any injury but she will age more slowly. Immortality magic allows the user to revive the dead and use them as puppets, to revive someone it is necessary to have a part of that person's body like a bone.
